When you photograph a face, you photograph the soul behind it.

My interest in portraiture is beautifully echoed in Wikipedia’s definition: a portrait is a painting, photograph, sculpture, or other artistic representation of a person, in which the face and its expression are predominant. The intent is to display the likeness, personality, and even the mood of the person. In photography, a portrait is generally not a snapshot, but a composed image – often with the subject engaging directly with the artist to connect most meaningfully with the viewer.
For me, portrait photography goes far beyond creating a likeness. Capturing people in different moods and settings allows me to preserve their persona, binding it in a kind of time capsule. Many years or decades later, these images will evoke both the subject and me with the same emotions, places, and memories. Time will pass, people will grow older, but the joy of revisiting those moments will always remain. That, to me, is the true purpose of my passion for portraiture.
If you find yourself featured in my portraits and would like a canvas print as a keepsake, please feel free to reach out.
